Extracted from the book which is available at my local library, the entire book has also been published by CD Archives.

This is a record taken in 1873 of the number and names of owners of land of one acre and upwards, whether built upon or not, in each county, with the estimated acreage and annual gross estimated rental of the property belonging to each owner.

In the whole of Cornwall 5149 persons had more than one acre and they owned 757,774 acres. There were 8717 persons who owned less than an acre which added up to 1186 acres. 70,968 acres were considered commons or waste ground.

Please note that this is not a conclusive list of the landowners of the parish, it is just a list of those living in the parish who owned land, not all of which might be in St Ive. Several persons who owned land in the parish, lived outside of it and are not shown.

The Royal Harrod’s Directory of Cornwall 1878 notes the chief landowners:- “The acreage is 5780, of which the chief landowners are Sir Bourchier Wrey, Bart., (Lord of the Manor), Lady Ashburton, D Collins Esq., Colonel A Coryton, W D Horndon Esq., and Miss D G A Strode.
